Pre-bid services involves site visits for reconnaissance surveys, the gathering of site data regarding different rates from local sources, the analysis of detailed project reports and tender documents, among other things. A thorough bill of quantities is created based on site visits, the examination of drawings, and document study. As part of value engineering, alternative construction design approaches are also developed. Pre-bid questions can be raised, and the BOQ can be revised based on the client’s alternative designs, if any.
